‘You stole everything I had’: Mother confronts server who stole her debit card

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

A North Carolina woman went through a drive-thru at the Steak ‘n Shake in Concord and paid for her meal with her debit card. The next day she saw there was over $600 in charges that she did not authorize.

Dore Wright believes that the person used her card to pay for insurance, an energy bill, as well as clothing, and the last person to use her card was the cashier at the restaurant.

She gave the person’s name to the businesses that the purchases and payments were made at and the name matched the cashier. They then went back to the restaurant to confront the woman.

“That was my child’s day care money,” Parks said during the confrontation. “That was my car payment. My kid’s day care check bounced because you stole all my bill money.

The employee seems to confess in the video shot of the incident because she says, “I’m so sorry about that.

“I’m sorry about that. I’m willing to pay you all the money back.”

The conversation gets more intense after that.

“Did you really think what you did was clever enough that you didn’t think that your name was going to get?” Wright asked.

“No, no ma’am,” the employee responded. “I knew this was going to happen. I’m sorry.”

“You knew?” one of Parks’ friend asked. “So, you just wanted to get in trouble?”

“I don’t want to be in trouble,” the worker answered.

“There (are) so many things you can do to get help besides taken from other people who work hard for their money, and Courtney works very hard for her money,” Wright later said to Channel 9 news.

Parks has filed a police report but there are no charges laid at this time.
