Whoopi Goldberg confronts Sarah Huckabee Sanders on ‘The View’

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Wednesday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her father, Mike Huckabee, appeared on “The View,” and Whoopi Goldberg wasn’t about to let the opportunity pass her by to press the White House press secretary on the president’s loose relationship to facts.

During the episode, Sanders said that she “completely disagreed” with a Politifact report that found only 5 percent of President Donald Trump’s statements were true, and Goldberg called her out on it.

“Where was President Obama born and is he an American citizen?” Goldberg asked.

“I think that has been pretty well addressed,” Sanders replied.

“But this narrative, this is what I’m talking about,” Goldberg said. “That’s a [false] narrative that went on forever and [Trump] didn’t clear it up until after he was in office.”

During the episode, both Sanders and Huckabee were questioned about their support of Trump. The co-hosts pressed both of them about some of the president’s most controversial moments. Joy Behar in particular clashed with Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, over his continued support of Trump.

Mike Huckabee has since gone on Fox News and lashed out at Goldberg over the confrontation.
