On Thursday, Piers Morgan sparked outrage on Twitter with a column blaming Kanye West for the recent news story about white sorority girls singing along to his song with the N-word in it.

“Should white girls be allowed to sing ‘ni**as’? New column posting very soon,” Morgan wrote on Twitter on Thursday only minutes before posting his column: “Don’t get angry about a bunch of white girls singing n***as, blame Kanye and the rap industry for putting it in their songs in the first place.”

The gist of the article was an argument around whether it was acceptable to sing along to a popular song, as well as a question of whether “ni**a” as opposed to “n****r” was really a racist epithet. He wrote in the article that “even among black people there is disagreement as to whether the word is actually a racist or offensive term at all.”

As you can imagine, Twitter simply tore Morgan apart for his article, berating him for not only trying to speak for Black people but for trying to explain the Black experience to Black people.
