Ezekiel Elliot isn’t going to back away from his fight with the NFL as he has continued to battle the six-game ban he was hit with over domestic abuse allegations.

On Friday, a federal appeals judge ruled that Elliott will be able to play during Sunday’s game, but Elliot said that the fight is about more than just football: it’s about defending his name.

“I mean, this is bigger than a suspension, it’s bigger than football. It’s them trying to make me something I’m not. I’m not an abuser. That’s not who I am,” the 22-year-old athlete told David Helman of dallascowboys.com. “This is my name, this is my reputation. This is something I’m going to have to live with beyond football. So every day is worth fighting.”

While Elliot will be able to play this weekend, the battle is still ongoing, and he may yet be forced to serve the suspension.

This past summer, Elliot was hit with allegations that he assaulted his then-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, back in 2016. The athlete has maintained his innocence argues that his ex is on a mission to ruin his career in retaliation of their breakup.

“You are a Black male athlete. I’m a white girl. They are not going to believe you,” he claims she said.
