Joy Behar apologizes for ‘premature’ celebration about botched Michael Flynn report

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On “The View” on Monday, Joy Behar apologized for celebrating an erroneous report about Michael Flynn and the Russia investigation.

The report, made by Brian Ross, incorrectly stated that Donald Trump had directed Flynn to contact Russian officials while he was still a candidate. However, the report was later updated to reflect that Trump directed Flynn to do so when he was president-elect.

When the story broke, Behar had celebrated, believing it was the first step on the way to impeachment for Trump. “The View” discussed the ABC report at the time, but when the correction was issued, they corrected the reporting both on the air and online.

Additionally, Behar spoke up on Monday about her viral celebrations, saying, “So, on Friday’s show, apparently I was guilty of premature evaluation. I hear they have a pill for that now.”

Ross has also issued an apology and was suspended for four weeks without pay, a fact that was celebrated by President Trump on Twitter.

“Congratulations to News for suspending Brian Ross for his horrendously inaccurate and dishonest report on the Russia, Russia, Russia Witch Hunt. More Networks and ‘papers’ should do the same with their Fake News!” the president tweeted on Saturday.
