Children who are overweight may be more prone to food allergies (video)
A national institutes of health study of more than 4-thousand kids and teens finds obese children are 26-percent more likely than other kids to have any kind of allergy. Food allergies were particularly common. Researchers say the rate of having a food allergy was 59-percent higher for obese children.
The study stops short of proving obesity causes allergies. Doctors say more research is need on the link between the two.
