Muhammad Ali makes a rare public appearance at charity event (video)

Lexington, KY – Muhammad Ali made a rare public appearance. The boxing great attended an event in Lexington, KY to announce a new charity fund. With a $50,000 donation, the animal nutrition company Alltech joined The Muhammad Ali Center in forming The Muhammad Ali Global Education and Charitable Fund.

The organization, which hopes to raise another half a million dollars by next year, will work to fund education, health and nutrition, and disaster relief projects around the world. Ali, who suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, received a standing ovation at the event when he came on stage. Ali was born in Kentucky and his Muhammad Ali Center is based in Louisville.
