Michelle Obama visits 5th-graders with a green thumb (video)

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

WASHINGTON – The white house garden is in full bloom, thanks to a group of students in Washington DC. The first lady visited the fifth-graders who helped plant the garden Friday. Mrs. Obama listened to a presentation by the students on their experiences at the white house, before heading outside to help the kids with their own garden.

The students planted the white house garden in March and it has already produced 80 pounds of different kinds of lettuce. Some of the crops have been served at the white house, and some have been donated to a local soup kitchen.
