WASHINGTON — A spring harvest brought fifth graders back to the White House. Children from a Washington, DC elementary school helped First Lady Michelle Obama plant a White House vegetable garden in April.

Tuesday, they got to harvest it. They lifted 73 pounds of lettuce and picked 12 pounds of peas. Then it was off to the White House kitchen, where the kids used the vegetables to prepare a healthy meal.
