WASHINGTON (AP) — Facebook users come across lots of surveys created by other users. But this one caught the attention of the U.S. Secret Service.

It asked whether people thought President Barack Obama should be assassinated.

The poll asked respondents “Should Obama be killed?” The choices: No, Maybe, Yes, and Yes if he cuts my health care.

A Secret Service spokesman says the agency is aware of it, and that it will take “appropriate investigative steps.” The spokesman says postings like this are taken seriously.

The poll went up Saturday on the social networking site, and was taken down quickly after company officials were alerted to it.

The question was not created by Facebook, but by an independent person using an add-on application. The application was later disabled.

Facebook says it’s working with the Secret Service.
