CHICAGO – Chicago Police arrested the man who fatally shot a 16-year-old standing outside of a store on the 300 block of 119th St. last Wednesday.
Randall White, 42, of the 11900 block of S. Wallace was charged tonight with first-degree murder.
The victim was in a parking lot on Wednesday when White approached in a dark vehicle. When the victim looked at White, the offender exited the vehicle with a handgun and fired at the victim, fatally striking the teen. White fled the scene.
Area Two detectives diligently conducted interviews and reviewed surveillance tapes to develop a lead in the case. After White was positively identified in a photo array, the Area Two Gang Enforcement Unit collaborated with Area Two detectives to place White into custody.
White, who attempted to flee after observing police arrive at his residence, was arrested after a short foot chase. White is scheduled to appear in bond court on January 5, 2010.
