Key reports on the economy due this week include the Fed’s Beige Book (due Wednesday), which provides information on credit, consumer spending and manufacturing from the Fed’s twelve districts, including Atlanta, Cleveland and San Francisco.

The December industrial production report and retail sales report are also due this week. The November industrial production report showed a 0.8 percent improvement, with manufacturing and mining contributing to the gain.
