LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say they found a lack of evidence that St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson beat a girlfriend who was nine months pregnant with the couple’s child at his Las Vegas home last year.

Las Vegas police Officer Barbara Morgan said Tuesday that detectives talked to everyone involved, the investigation is complete, and the case is closed.

Morgan says there’s insufficient evidence to seek criminal charges. She says a police report filed in LaPlace, La., by Supriya Harris, 29, of Mableton, Ga., won’t be immediately released.

Harris alleged the two-time Pro Bowl running back “flung” her against a door in March 2009.

She told police that Jackson later urged her to tell a hospital nurse she fell in the shower.

Jackson issued a statement Jan. 28 calling the accusations untrue and hurtful.
