Urban League’s black agenda: Jobs, jobs, jobs

The economy is taking a harsh toll on so many families across the country.

But as the National Urban League, now 100 years old, sums up “the state of Black America this year,” their report contains some sobering news.

While the national unemployment rate stands at 9.7 percent, it’s a staggering 15.8 percent for African-Americans, compared to 8.8 percent for whites. NBC’s Mara Schiavocampo looks at the impact of those numbers and one idea for turning them around.
