The Rainbow PUSH Coalition is urging food service giant YUM! Brands to pay closer attention to diversity and inclusion. The Rev. Jesse L. Jackson was in Atlanta today to counsel KFC franchisees who reached out to the civil rights organization for assistance.

According to data obtained by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition’s International Trade Bureau, fewer than 100 of the company’s 2900 restaurants are operated by less than 30 black-owned firms, while blacks and Hispanics account for nearly one-third of the company’s U.S. revenues.

“YUM! needs to do a better job of making sure that its franchisees look like its customers,” indicated Randolyn Jones, director for the Southern Region of Rainbow PUSH’s trade bureau based in Atlanta, Georgia.
