PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida (AP) — The week after missing the cut, Tiger Woods is trying to get his mind and his game in the right place.

And he’s trying to keep his golf ball on dry land.

Woods hit five balls into the water during nine holes of practice Tuesday at The Players Championship. He says he is trying to tighten up areas of his game, and says about the only thing he did right last week at Quail Hollow was put the ball on the tee.

He says his practice has been good, but he’s trying to get his head in the game.

Woods has been No. 1 in the world for the last five years, but he could lose that if Phil Mickelson wins this week and Woods finishes out of the top five.
