Teens target genitalia as part of cruel ‘game’

It’s called “sack tapping” and it’s a growing trend among teenage boys that is leaving some with serious injury.

Take fourteen year-old David, for example. He’s currently recovering from a procedure he had last month to have his right testicle removed after being punched in the groin by classmates.

Urologist Scott Wheeler says he’s seeing more and more young men come in with ruptured testicles and other less severe injuries to the groin area.

“All parents you know need to have this talk with your kids not to do it. It’s lost its humor. It’s not a game anymore. People get hurt,” says Wheeler.

What’s worse is so-called “sack tapping” is now featured in dozens of homemade videos on youtube and similar sites.

“I’ve seen the pain he was in. I’ve seen what he went through everyday, and it just breaks my heart and I don’t want any other child to have to go through this,” says Wheeler.
