The principal of Jamie’s House Charter School, David Jones, pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of failure to report child abuse this morning.

Although he had no comment after the proceedings, he is just one of four workers from the charter school charged in connection to a beating of a 13-year-old student back in April.

Sheri Davis is the teacher accused of physically hitting and kicking 13-year-old Isaiah Reagins.

A portion of the attack was caught on cell phone video. School officials say once they saw the video Davis was immediately fired.

They say Gabrielle Moseley is a teacher who was present during the alleged attack and failed to report it.

Moseley was fired back in May and has since been charged by the district attorney’s office with failure to report child abuse.

The superintendent of the school Ollie Hilliard has also been charged with failure to report child abuse as well.

Sheri Davis is expected to be in court this morning to face her felony charge of injury to a child.

The 13-year-old and his family left Houston after the incident.

The Texas Education Agency has assigned a conservator to oversee the school.
