‘Bouquet Bandit’ strikes again at Chelsea Bank

Chivalry is not dead in New York City — at least not going by one bank robber.
A man with a bouquet of flowers entered the Bank of Smithtown on Seventh Avenue in Chelsea on July 15 at around 8:55 a.m., approached a teller, gave a teller them a note demanding all of their 100- and 50-dollar bills, according to police.
The perpetrator added, “Don’t be a hero,” cops said.
Once he had the cash in hand, the robber bolted, leaving the flowers behind.
It was unclear just how much money he made off with. A bank spokesperson did not return calls for comment.
Police describe the subject as a 30- to 35-year-old male who is between 5’8” and 5’10” tall. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes at the time.
