Fantasia Barrino isn’t going to let a suicide attempt and a much-ballyhooed adultery scandal stop her from moving forward with her music career. She will return to the spotlight on Aug. 24, when she performs on ‘Good Morning America,’ and then spend the next couple of weeks making other promotional stops for her new album, ‘Back to Me.’
Barrino was hospitalized last week after taking too much medication following a tumultuous day of bad press related to her relationship with a married man named Antwaun Cook.
In a statement released Monday night, the ‘American Idol’ winner thanked fans for their “prayers and support during such a challenging time.”
