Special delivery! Baby born in McDonald's parking lot

A last-minute dash to the hospital ended with a new baby in McDonald’s parking lot Tuesday night.

Vanderburgh County, Ohio Sheriff’s deputies say the mother-to-be, Candice Mockobee, went into labor while working at the Holiday Inn Express. Her parents picked her up from work but on the way to the hospital her water broke.

Dad pulled into a McDonald’s parking lot, and just a few minutes later, Jacilyn Farmer was born. The baby’s father, Jamon Farmer, say’s he’s still in shock.

“I would never in a million years think I would have a baby that way,” he said.

Mockobee, who wasn’t due until December 17, says she started to feel contractions Tuesday afternoon while at work and as they got closer she called her parents to come pick her up.

“I felt the push and I was like whoa! She was in my pants leg and I said what am I going to do?!” she said.

Chapman said he gently removed the baby from Mockebee’s pants and wrapped the newborn in a blanket until the paramedics arrived.

“McDonald’s will be her first birthday party!” she says.

The mother says her other children are ecstatic about meeting their new sibling
