ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Donovan McNabb is trying to distance himself from inflammatory comments made by his agent, at the same time saying he doesn’t have a problem with what his agent said.

The Washington Redskins quarterback’s weekly appearance on his radio show did little to clear up his tit-for-tat relationship with coach Mike Shanahan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

McNabb told ESPN980 on Tuesday he wasn’t aware that agent Fletcher Smith was going to release a statement criticizing the Shanahans last week. McNabb said the statement reflected Smith’s thoughts — “not Donovan’s thoughts.”

But McNabb also said he saw “nothing wrong” with the statement and that he supports his agent in this situation.
