Still ruling the top of the charts with her summer hit “Motivation,” Kelly Rowland next move will extend her move beyond the airwaves and onto the small screen.

Today, it was officially announced that Kelly will be joining the UK version of the hit show, X-Factor. As the newest face of the mega-successful televised talent competition, Kelly will be sitting at the judges table along with Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh.

Speaking on her new gig for the first time, Kelly said:

“I am so excited to join The X Factor UK and be able to spend time in one of my favorite places in the world. The music coming out of the UK right now is incredible with artists like Adele, Jessie J and James Blake, so I’m confident this season of The X Factor will give me opportunity to hear a few diamonds in the rough. Being a judge is never easy, but I promise to be as sternly honest as I can and also encourage everyone who crosses the stage. I can’t wait to meet the world’s next superstar!’

As the former Destiny’s Child member moves into her new role, many UK fans are saying their goodbyes to longtime judge and favorite, Cheryl Cole. Cheryl, formerly of the group Girls Aloud, who had been originally slated to take a slot in the new US version of the hit show, was apparently given the boot in favor of former American Idol judge, Paula Abdul. The show producer’s insists that Cheryl has not returned their calls and has been unwilling to negotiate.

As it stands the stars at the US X-Factor judging table will include: L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul, and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Great to see Kelly getting such a high profile gig — hopefully she’ll keep churning out some more hits while she’s working across the pond.
