On Sunday, Taijah Pringle’s parents received the call they had been waiting for. The day after their 14-year-old daughter disappeared, New Haven police found her in Waterbury.

“We just want to see her. We’re at a loss for words right now,” Taijah’s father, Chris Hudson, said.

Taijah disappeared from her Exchange Street home in New Haven on Saturday afternoon. She told her mother, Taita Hudson, she was going to visit a friend in the neighborhood but she never made it to her friends house and her phone was off, which prompted police to get involved.

Her parents said Taijah had never run away and they just recently started letting her walk around the corner.

Family members put up posters in the neighborhood and police searched the area near Exchange Street and interviewed neighbors.

On Sunday while being interviewed by NBC Connecticut, Taijah’s parents received the call that she had been located in Waterbury.

Police said Taijah did not run away and was not abducted, but did not give any further details about what happened.
