Heather Sims will serve 18 months behind bars on charges of aggravated assault after attacking a man with a stiletto outside of a McDonald’s drive-thru. Anthony Miliner, the vicitm of the attack, has permanent damage to one of his eyes and declined to attend Sims’ sentencing.
“All I can say is I’m sorry for everything that happened”, Sims told the court. She says she’s had a lot of time to think about what she did. Sims said the crime really hit her when she learned that Miliner’s kids look at him differently because of the eye patch he now wears.
Miliner was trying to help a woman who was being attacked by a man in a car in front of him at the drive-thru. Sims thought Miliner was the person responsible and proceeded to attack him with her shoe.
Sims was on the run for months before turning herself in for the crime in April.
