If there is one thing everyone can agree on when it comes to Erykah Badu, it’s that the woman always keeps us on our toes.

Ms. Badu recently announced she will be releasing her first mixtape in July under the name, “DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown.” While at the Los Angeles Film Festival to present a screening of 2009’s The Invention of Lying, the singer told the audience she is working on what she called a “dance project.” Word is she will be producing the mixtape as well.

Badu has been getting her shine as a DJ. Just this past weekend, the singer worked a BET Award’s pre-awards dinner as well as an “Black Girls Rock and Soul Tour” event at the Key Club in Hollywood last Friday night.

While fans are sure to soak up any new music from the “Window Seat” singer, she will be taking it back when she hits the road for this year’s Rock the Bells Festival. The singer will be performing every single track off her debut album and soul classic, Baduizm. The festival’s whole album theme will continue with Lauryn Hill, who is also set to perform The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in full.
