Deangelo Owens, 17, of Southfield, Michigan has been charged with 14 felonies including carjacking, unlawful imprisonment, armed robbery and intent to murder.

Owens shot 81-year-old retired police officer Moses Baldwin in the shoulder as the two exchanged gunfire outside of a post office. The shooter later fled in Baldwin’s car.

Owens is also accused in the shooting of a 52-year-old delivery man a week earlier. As Owens and an unknown male approached the victim, they pointed a handgun at the man and forced him to the floor. The victim attempted to force them from the vehicle but was shot near his armpit.

The teen faces a preliminary examination in Detroit’s 36th District Court for his crimes and if convicted may receive life in prison.
