A Miami woman is facing charges after police say she faked her own kidnapping to get attention from her boyfriend and family.
Rashell Leaeann Barfield, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of making a false report of a crime and one count of obstructing justice, Miami Police said.

Police say Barfield and her boyfriend had been arguing late Monday night over the attention the boyfriend was giving their son when Barfield left their home in the 900 block of Northwest 49th Street.
Barfield’s boyfriend told police he received a text message from Barfield the next day telling him she’d been kidnapped by two men wearing ski masks who put her in a white van, put a hood over her head and drove her to an unknown location, police said.
