2-year-old struck, killed by car in Chicago

A 2 year-old boy died after being struck by a car Wednesday evening in Chicago’s South Side Marquette Park neighborhood.

Police say Jeremiah Griffin was hit on the 3000 block of West Columbus Avenue just after 5 p.m. Jeremiah was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he later died.

The boy’s grandmother said the child ran out of the house and into the street before anyone could catch him.
