In the height of the Atlanta public schools cheating scandal, all fingers pointed at ex-superintendent Beverly Hall.

In her first television interview, Hall tells NBC’s Harry Smith on Rock Center, that although she accepts responsibility for lack of anticipation, the decisions to forge test scores fall solely on the individual teachers. She refutes claims of fear and intimidation and says, “nothing I can ask of you would be an excuse for you to cheat.”

Hall also says the allegations of her being privy to the scandal were completely false.

“I did not know and if I ever knew it would’ve been dealt with,” said Hall.
