MIAMI (AP) — Chris Bosh is already looking forward to Christmas Day and another Miami Heat matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA has made it official, saying Friday that the Heat will open the season in Dallas in an NBA finals rematch on Dec. 25. The Mavericks are expected to raise their championship banner before the game.
The matchup is no surprise. It was also part of the NBA’s initially released schedule, the one that had to be changed considerably because of all the time lost during the lockout.
Bosh says “it’s a bit ironic” that the finalists are squaring off to open the season, and that he’ll use the trip to his hometown of Dallas as motivation.
Dallas beat the Heat in six games in last season’s finals.
