South Carolina’s voter ID law is one of the strictest in the nation, and that has some activists worried that voters — especially young and minority voters — could be disenfranchised in 2012.

In this month’s “The Big Issue: Voter Denied,” NBC News reporter Mara Schiavocampo explores the pros and cons of voting reform in the Palmetto State and around the country, and discovers that finding a “valid ID” can be harder than you think.
