Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

A legal (and financial) slam dunk could be coming as Vanessa Bryant files for divorce, citing Kobe’s cheating.

The website TMZ reports Vanessa filed court papers Friday, citing “irreconcilable difficulties.”

TMZ reports:

Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ … Vanessa — who stuck by Kobe after he was charged with sexually assaulting a Colorado woman in 2003 — decided to end the marriage because she believes Kobe has been unfaithful … again.

As one source puts it, “She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough,” adding, “This one is the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

And our sources say … Kobe “desperately” wants to win Vanessa back and will do “whatever it takes” to save their 10 1/2 year marriage.

And the website cites legal documents that say Vanessa will seek spousal support and joint custody of the couple’s two daughters. The couple married in 2001 after meeting on a music video set when Vanessa was 18 and the Lakers star was 21.

And did we mention — there’s no pre-nup?

The $4 million ring Kobe coughed up after admitting to cheating on Vanessa following accusations he sexually assaulted a woman in a Colorado hotel could be just the tip of the iceberg.

According to the Associated Press, the couple released a statement asking “that in the interest of our young children and in light of the upcoming holiday season the public respect our privacy during this difficult time.”
