A Cleveland-area man was arrested after a New Year’s Eve stabbing that resulted from an argument over whether singer BeyoncĂ© was married to rapper Jay-Z.

An arrest report shows that the incident happened a few hours before the new year. The Parma Police Department’s Detective Marty Compton said Ronald Deaver, 31, and another man began arguing when the alleged victim said he didn’t know that BeyoncĂ© and Jay-Z were married. The 41-year-old victim, who has not yet been identified, was stabbed and taken to a local hospital soon after. He is currently listed in good condition.

Deaver fled the scene but was arrested soon after and charged with felonious assault.

Beyoncé married Jay-Z in New York on September 4, 2008 in a private ceremony. They are currently expecting their first child.
