Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Don’t let this headline mislead you into thinking Bill Cosby has some (other) illegitimate child roaming around out there. This story is much stranger than that.

Police in Utah say a 32-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of shoplifting falsely told officers she co-starred with Bill Cosby on The Cosby Show. Police say Leah Efay Davis of Provo, Utah, was in a J.C. Penney store when they say she put several items into a bag and walked out of the store. Security stopped her and found she had about $600 worth of goods.

Authorities say she told officers she played the role of Rudy Huxtable, but actress Keisha Knight Pulliam actually played Rudy, the youngest daughter on the 1980s sit-com. Court records say Davis also claimed she owned the mall in which she was arrested.

It’s one thing to claim that you own the mall, because that’s a pretty standard crazy-person excuse, and I can even see insisting that you’re related to Bill Cosby himself. But come on…don’t bring Keisha Knight Pulliam into your nonsense. Rudy Huxtable doesn’t need this kind of drama in her life and we all know you are not her when we see you!
