Owner Bryant Toala, who had amassed the shoes since school, told police that his collection had been taken from their hiding place at his Mapleridge Drive home in Charlotte.
The 22-year-old revealed that thieves also took a set of baseball hats that matched the trainers as well as a further ten pairs of Nike shoes and electronics.

The entire haul is estimated to be worth $22,000.

Toala said: ‘I was (upset). All that hard work to get them, getting in all those lines.’

The family dog, a large pit-bull boxer cross, had been placed in the garage while Toala’s father was at work.
