From the Daily Mail: As the nation commemorated the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, the King Center in Atlanta, Georgia, marked the occasion by posting 200,000 never-before-seen documents by or about the slain civil rights leader on its website.

The documents cover many aspects of his struggle – and not all of them are complimentary.

Tbe archives include hate mail to King. Some criticise him for being a communist, while others rail against all African-Americans, describing them as ‘savages.’

One letter suggests that he gives back the Nobel Peace Prize because of the civil unrest he has caused.

An anonymous critic also says he was directly responsible for the death of a 16-year-old in a riot. It says: ‘You did murder that child, didn’t you Martin? Can you sleep at night while you are listening to our Lord ask you that question? … No thank you – you murderer.
