It’s a slave art slowly disappearing from view in this country, but to see it is to appreciate the sheer beauty and pragmatism of a skill brought out of Africa to America. We’re talking sweetgrass baskets, home to a slice of the Atlantic coast from the Carolinas south to north Florida — and steeped in tradition. One woman is trying to keep that tradition from fading. NBC’s Ron Mott, in Charleston, South Carolina reports.
