Trayvon Martin’s tragic death has a firm hold on both the media and the public. That includes Washington Post opinion writer Jonathan Capehart, who wrote a compelling opinion piece about Trayvon’s story, as it relates to his own experiences as an African-American teenager living in Newark, New Jersey.

He remembers being taught the “don’ts” – the list of things he shouldn’t do, lest he rouse suspicion.

Capehart joined Rev. Al Sharpton in Newark to talk more about those “don’ts” and the “heavy weight of suspicion” that so many young black men must carry.
