The death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin has stirred up nationwide conversations regarding prejudice and justice. On this week’s Rock Center with Brian Williams, a segment aired showing some of the black voices of NBC discussing their feelings regarding the Trayvon Martin case and their personal experiences with racial prejudice.
For instance, News Nation host Tamron Hall said, “I am followed in department stores.” Hall adds that it does not matter whether she is wearing jeans or in business clothing, she still feels the pressure.
TheGrio’s Executive Editor David Wilson said “If I go to a convenience store I find myself not having my hands in my pockets.”
