Trayvon Martin case: George Zimmerman hires Casey Anthony TV analyst
Talk about strange bedfellows. According to a new report from the Orlando Sentinel, George Zimmerman has hired Hal Uhrig, an attorney best known for offering TV commentary during the Casey Anthony trial. Uhrig is unaffiliated with any particular network and will serve on Zimmerman’s defense alongside Craig Sonner:
George Zimmerman has hired attorney Hal Uhrig, stations reported tonight. The name will be familiar to people who followed the Casey Anthony coverage, because Uhrig offered analysis for Fox-owned WOFL-Channel 35.
Uhrig is not a station employee, and sources say it’s unlikely you’ll see him on WOFL again until there is a resolution in the Zimmerman saga.
Uhrig will join Craig Sonner in preparing Zimmerman’s defense in the Trayvon Martin case, WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Bob Opsahl said. Zimmerman, 28, has said he shot the 17-year-old in self-defense.
