Universities and schools across the nation are showing their support for Trayvon Martin. Students in Hempstead, New York at Hofstra University recently honored Trayvon Martin with a candlelight vigil service. Students paid tribute to the slain teen through songs, prayers and speeches. From Long Island Report:

Trayvon Martin continues to have the support of universities and schools across the country.

The 17-year-old black teen was shot and killed Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla. He had been walking to the home of his father’s fiancé when George Zimmerman, 28, claimed to witness suspicious behavior. A confrontation ensued, and Zimmerman fatally shot Martin.

Martin’s death has sparked nationwide anti-racism movements. President Barack Obama and Rev. Al Sharpton have each called for a full investigation.
