Beyoncé calls Michelle Obama 'ultimate example of a truly strong African-American woman' in letter
theGRIO REPORT - Beyoncé took some time out to write a heartfelt letter to first lady Michelle Obama...
It looks like Beyoncé is using her downtime after giving birth in January to do a bit of writing. The “Love On Top” singer penned a heartfelt letter to first lady Michelle Obama, praising her for being an incredible leader and role model for her daughter Blue Ivy Carter. In the letter she says that “Michelle is the ultimate example of a truly strong African-American woman.” Beyoncé released the note yesterday on her newly launched website.
This is not the first time Beyoncé has shown her support for Ms. Obama. Last year, she teamed up with the first lady for her “Let’s Move” campaign. And few can forget when she sang “At Last” during the president’s Inaugural Ball in 2009.
It seems that lately Beyoncé is unveiling new layers of her identity to the public. Earlier this month the Grammy Award winning songstress shared intimate portraits of her personal life on her Tumblr blog. The same day, she sent out her first official tweet, where she invited her nearly 4 million followers to checkout Beyoncé.com.
