Swedish Minister of Culture involved in racist circumcision cake scandal
April 15th was the “World Day of Art” in Sweden and Minister of Culture Lene Adelsohn Liljeroth participated in what many called a “racial spectacle.” At an art exhibition, where they wanted to bring focus to female circumcision, the minister participated in the cutting of a cake shaped like an African woman. The head of the cake was attached to a person who hid underneath the table and screamed pretending to be in pain every time the cake was cut into. Adelsohn decided to begin to cut the cake symbolically at the clitoris area. The National Afro-Swedish Association is outraged and is asking for the immediate dismissal or Liljeroth.
