NBC MIAMI – Amar’e Stoudemire is officially a Cane. The New York Knicks forward has enrolled in the general studies program at the University of Miami.
UM has confirmed that Stoudemire registered for summer classes. On Monday he tweeted, “Just enrolled at the University of Miami. Working on continuing my education.” He also posted a photo of himself flashing the “U” sign alongside an unidentified man in a bowtie.
Stoudemire was born in Lake Wales, Florida, and graduated from Cypress Creek High School in Orlando. He bypassed college and declared for the NBA Draft straight out of high school, the Phoenix Suns selected him with the 9th overall pick in the 2002 draft.
