A few days after Will Smith put the smack down on a reporter who tried to open mouth kiss him in Moscow, the actor made his way to the The Late Show with David Letterman to promote Men In Black 3, reported  The Huffington Post.

In his trademark Letterman style, the host asked Smith for his side of the story on the slapping incident.

Smith took the comedic route, but admitted to Letterman that it was just “awkward”.

“They were like, ‘Oh, no, we’re sorry, you know. It’s just his ‘schtick,’ you know,” Smith told Letterman.  “And I said, ‘well, that’s why his a** got schtuck.'”

Men In Black 3 hits theaters on Friday, May 25.
