Scores of prominent NFL players have transitioned from the gridiron to the broadcast booth. Add ex-Dolphins star Jason Taylor to that growing list. ESPN announced Tuesday Taylor will join the network as an analyst for its NFL coverage, including programs such as “NFL Live” and “SportsCenter.” Taylor has been an on-air guest analyst before for ESPN and impressed show producers with his performance.  The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports on the Talyor’s hire:

ESPN announced that Taylor will be joining the network’s NFL Live and NFL32 programs, and contributing to SportsCenter and the network’s Countdown show, that advances games on Sunday.

“Jason worked as a guest analyst in studio on a few shows last year and we were extremely impressed with his performance and the depth of knowledge he was able to share with the viewer,” ESPN senior coordinating producers Seth Markman said. “He comes across as smooth on the air as he was in rushing the passer all those years as a player.”

Taylor retired in December after playing 15 seasons in the NFL. While he also played for the Washington Redskins and New York Jets, 13 of his seasons were spent with the Dolphins.
