Students celebrating an academic milestone are celebrating it with a mistake that must make their English teachers cringe.

Graduates at Riverdale, Maryland’s Parkdale High School received diplomas with the word “program” spelled without the second R, P-R-O-G-A-M.

The school district and the printing company have apologized to the Class of 2012 and promised to replace the diplomas.

“We understand the value of your hard work and achievement; therefore we are reprinting your diploma,” read a letter from the printer, National Quality Products.

The company said it will take about a month for the corrected diplomas to be mailed to students’ homes.
