NBC Philadelphia – A young boy who police say was kidnapped by his grandfather was found safe this morning, according to police.

Investigators say David Lundy, 5, was abducted from his home last Friday in West Windsor. Lundy lived with his aunt in the apartment complex but was to be removed from the home after the Department of Youth and Families determined his aunt and grandfather were not suitable guardians.

Police say the boy’s grandfather, 50-year-old Morris Lundy, took the boy from his home. On Tuesday around 11:30 a.m., investigators say they received information that David and Morris were spotted at a McDonald’s restaurant in Florence, South Carolina. An officer with the Florence Sheriff’s Department went to the McDonald’s where police say he found the two.

Morris Lundy was arrested and taken into custody. He is currently being held in the Florence County Jail pending extradition. He is charged with kidnapping, interference with child custody and endangering the welfare of a child.
