Pop star Rihanna has suffered a tragic loss. Her beloved grandmother, Clara ‘Dolly’ Braithwaite has died after a longtime battle with cancer. The Huffington Post reports:

Rihanna’s grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite, has died after battling cancer, according to Contact Music.

“Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you,” the singer tweeted early Sunday morning, followed by numerous photo postings of her grandmother.

Chris Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, also offered her condolences to her son’s ex-girlfriend via the social networking site. Rihanna responded: “@mombreezy thank you! Love u mama.”
